President of the European Council’s phone call with the President

Emphasising the necessity of stabilising the multipolar order in the world, the President described the policies and actions of the United States in putting pressure on countries such as the Islamic Republic of Iran and trying to deprive them of all their rights and interests in line with their efforts to prevent the establishment of the new world order and obstacles to achieving stability and peace in the world.

In the phone call of Mr Charles Michel, the President of the European Council, with the President of our country, Dr Masoud Pezeshkian, the two sides discussed the relations between Iran and Europe, and exchanged views on the solutions for the resumption of negotiations related to the nuclear agreement and the crisis caused by the crimes of the Zionist regime in Gaza and its terrorist actions in the region.

In this conversation, the president of our country stated that the Islamic Republic of Iran has always been a supporter of peace and stability in the whole world and for all nations, and believes that any process in any part of the world that endangers these values should be stopped, adding, “The application of double standards by the United States and some western countries has caused the Zionist regime to become more arrogant in committing terror and heinous crimes in Gaza as well as in the countries of the region, and has endangered the peace and security of the region and the world even more than before”.

In response to the President of the European Council’s desire to resume talks on the nuclear deal, Dr Pezeshkian described the existence of trust and the provision of mutual benefits as the basis of the agreement and added, “If both sides fulfill all their obligations and trust is established, in addition to the revival of the nuclear deal, we can also discuss other issues of mutual interest”.

Emphasising the necessity of stabilising the multipolar order in the world, the President described the policies and actions of the United States in putting pressure on countries such as the Islamic Republic of Iran and trying to deprive them of all their rights and interests in line with their efforts to prevent the establishment of the new world order and obstacles to achieving stability and peace in the world.

In this conversation, the President of the European Council, while expressing hope for the beginning of an effective interaction between Iran and the European Union based on providing mutual benefits and removing obstacles to wider interaction between them, emphasised the desire of European countries to improve the level of relations with Iran.

Regarding the developments in Gaza, Charles Michel also emphasised on observing humanitarian rights, stopping attacks, establishing a ceasefire and providing massive aid to the people of Gaza, and recognising the independent state of Palestine.
