Iran FM EU foreign policy chief discuss ties Israel crimes

Josep Borrell the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy made a phone call to the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran Seyed Abbas Araghchi to congratulate him on his appointment as the top Iranian diplomat.

Referring to the existing regional and global challenges, Borrell expressed hope that the political dialogue and consultations between Iran and the European Union would continue and expand under the new Iranian government.

Araghchi, in turn, thanked Borrell for the call and congratulations, highlighting the diverse and extensive areas of interaction between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the European Union.
He stated that Iran welcomes the development of relations with the European Union based on mutual respect. However, he emphasized that this requires dialogue to resolve mutual issues and to address the incorrect policies of European countries.

In this phone conversation, both sides also discussed topics of mutual interest, including the negotiations on lifting sanctions and the latest developments concerning the Gaza war and crimes committed by the Zionist regime in the enclave.
